It was pointed out that if the City provides <br />the additional labor required to remove garbage from this particular area, it could not <br />legitimately do so without extending the same service to a much larger segment of the <br />citizenry who do comply with the Sanitation Departmentts regulation in this connection, <br />and the rendering of this additional service would increase operating costs excessively. <br />This additional service might possibly result in the necessity of a special service <br />fee being levied and chargeable to residents so served. It was the decision of the <br />Board to hold a further conference on this topic, at which Sanitation Department <br />Foreman, I. W. Cripe, is to be present at 2:30 P-M- this date. <br />II Contractorts Bonds, each in the sum, of $1,000.00, were examined and approved <br />fob the following: <br />!: Thomas L. Wednesday, <br />April 28, 1954, for the purpose of the concluding and signing of Contract No. 6A, <br />covering sewer river crossings involved in the construction.of the Sewage Disposal <br />system. All members were present. Present also was Russell C. Kuehl, attorney for <br />the City in matters pertaining to sewage disposal. <br />Mr. G. W. Falcon,, Marine Contractor; Evanston, Illinois, was present and the <br />completion period of 700 days was given some discussion. Mr. Falcon assured the Board <br />that work will be completed in a considerably less <br />� P y period of time, depending on weather <br />,conditions. <br />Attorney Kuehl pointed out the necessity of securing certificate from the Indiana <br />State Industrial Board to show compliance with the required insurance provisions. Mr. <br />; <br />lFalcon assured the Board that this certificate would be obtained forthwith. Attorney <br />;Kuehl also asked that certified copy of original insurance policy be provided. Mr. <br />Falcon stated this request would be complied with. Attorney Kuehl also stressed the <br />limportance that insurance coverage include malicious mischief and vandalism. <br />Some discussion ensued in the matter of legal I' g processes involved in the acquiring <br />of certain easements. <br />i <br />The Board then proceeded with the signing of -the contract and Thos. E. Bath, <br />representing the Indemnity Insurance Company of North America, being present at this <br />juncture of the meeting proceeded with the signing and sealing of the performance,bond. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 3:45 P.
