IN <br />129 <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 12;00 o1clock noon. <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />February 9, 1954 <br />• I! A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was held in the office of the Board <br />Iat 2;15 P.M., Tuesday, February 9, 1954, for the purpose of a hearing relative to <br />application of Jacob Moore for taxicab driverts license, original application having <br />!been referred to this Board, because of questionable affidavits. Board member I. A. <br />IlHurwich was absent. <br />II Jacob D. Moore, being present, placed with the Board affidavits of bona fide <br />;householders, as requested by the Board in regular meeting, Monday February 8, 1954. <br />The Board examined the affidavits and finding them to be in order, authorized the City <br />Controller to provide the license applied for. <br />• Chairman of the Board, R. S. Andrysiak, impressed upon the taxi driver the <br />jresponsibility he assumes in transporting the public, and the confidence the Controller <br />!and the Board are obliged to place in his driving ability, and good character, in the <br />issuing of the license. <br />The Board next examined <br />Contractor's Combination Bid Bond and Bond for Construction, dated February 9, 1954,1 <br />in the sum of $5,587,044.00, binding Sollitt Construction Co., Inc. and the Indemnity <br />'iInsurance Company of North America, for the construction of the Sewage Disposal Plant. <br />�IThe Board, finding after consultation with Attorney Russell C. Kuehl, this bond to be <br />�Isatisfactory, approved the bond. Bond having been approved, the Board then authorized I <br />,!the return of certified check, submitted by Sollitt Construction Co. with their bid <br />;ton the Sewage Disposal Plant construction. <br />There being no furt'her business, the meeting adjourned at 2:45 p.m. <br />I <br />D <br />• <br />Attest; <br />Clerk <br />• <br />t <br />0 <br />
