<br />(, and presenting an agreement for
<br />the approval of the Board to permit a
<br />'30-day trial operation of bus service
<br />to the Edison
<br />Park and McKinley Terrace area
<br />•
<br />,Mondays through Saturdays. It was pointed
<br />out
<br />that such service is fundamentally
<br />an
<br />;extension of the Corby Street bus service
<br />as now
<br />in operation. The Board approved
<br />the
<br />thir`_ty-day trial, as requested, and
<br />signed the
<br />agreement accordingly.
<br />A petition, bearing signatures
<br />of many property
<br />owners and residents of South j
<br />Meade Street, under date of December
<br />11, 1953,
<br />for restricting the use of this
<br />street
<br />fby heavy semi -trailer trucks, was examined
<br />by
<br />the Board and referred to Traffic
<br />Engineer,!

<br />In the matter of the claim of Thos. D. Nolan, Contractor, in the total sum of ''
<br />$53,045.35, the Board reviewed this claim and directed that provided no outstanding billsjl
<br />against Contract No. 2-A and 2-B are revealed upon a search of the Board's files, claim •
<br />is to be presented for payment at the next regular meeting. 11
<br />A petition bearing the signatures of two members of the Board of Public Works and
<br />Safety, under date of January 29, 1954, was next placed before the Board, concerning
<br />the annexing of a tract of land to the City of South Bend and this was referred to the
<br />City Engineer's office for the preparation of an ordinance to be presented to the Common
<br />Council at the next regular meeting of that body, Monday, February 8, 1954-
<br />In the matter of a petition, dated October 2, 1953, bearing the signatures of Jean
<br />C. and Joseph O'Meara, 1222 So. 25th Street, South Bend, a search of the records has
<br />shown that the alley referred to in this petition was officially vacated by the County •
<br />Commissioners in the year 1892, in accordance with Deed Record 92, Page 195, and there-
<br />fore, is non-existent. Petitioners are to be so notified.
