The chairmanl,, <br />i'of the Board informed Councilman Glass that an inspection of the site was made by the 1! <br />';City Engineer and the Street Commissioner, and it is their conclusion that it is "too <br />'big a job for the Street Department and will have to be done by a contractor <br />Councilman Glass then asked that something be done now, and suggested that <br />,'Ilthe Street Department could at least fill the low spots and seal it". The Street <br />hCommissioner stated that he does not have "men qualified to operate the spreader", and <br />i'the operation would require tearing up the worn out pavement., and might Involve having <br />I;to lay some concrete. The -Commissioner stated, however, it would be"possible to patch <br />;a few low spots". Councilman Glass then demanded that such temporary patching of low <br />Itspots should be done without further delays put some seal in and roll it", and put <br />.1the permanent repair on thd,agenda for a first job to be contracted in the coming year. <br />!,The Board then ordered the Street Commissioner to patch and put seal coat on the wornout <br />,!area of pavement in questions and to proceed with the work immediately. <br />ail The Board next examined the claim of the Deeds Equipment Company covering their i' <br />I!Invoice No. 12197, dated August 6, 1953, reaffirmed its action of July 6th, 1953 author- <br />1, izing the Street Commissioner to purchase the tractor covered by this billing, taking 1: <br />!4, i; <br />1advantage of the trade-in allowance offered for two wornout tractors, and directed the <br />11Clerk to release Purchase Order SD4600, issued in authorization of this transaction, <br />Contractor's Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, were examined and approved <br />,by the Board for the following four contractors: <br />Ignatius Golichowski <br />Harvey D. Hall <br />Joseph Mui <br />Paul Pocza <br />Excavator's Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, were examined and approved by <br />,the Board for Goheen Plumbing & Heating Co., Inc., and for Robert H. Todd, d/b/a Todd's <br />:;Equipment Service of Mishawaka. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />;adjourned at 11:45 A.
