<br />10:00 A. P.I. All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and

<br />First appeared before the Mr. Chas. F. Iwan, representing the Grand Trunk Building !'
<br />Corporation, and presented for examination a drawing prepared by H. G. Christman Co.,
<br />Inc., showing proposed replacement of concrete approach, curbing and sidewalk at the
<br />warehouse building in the 400 block east Monroe Street. The Board referred the drawing
<br />and investigation of the proposed improvement to Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, for
<br />report.

<br />Next appeared before the Board, Engineer 111m. S. Iv_oore, who presented a drawing
<br />with reference to levels recently run to establish grade for Lawrence Street and north
<br />St. Louis Boulevard. This was referred to the City Engineer for study and confirmation.ii

<br />j! Next appeared before the Board, Mr. Theodore A. Homoky, 1301 South Main Street,
<br />asking permission to pave with concrete the parkway in front of his place of business
<br />for the purpose of providing parking space for customers. The Board informed Mr. Homoky�
<br />that this type of parking facility for commercial establishments is being denied to all
<br />applicants, because of the accident hazard involved in backing out into the line of
<br />traffic, and the Board, accordingly, disapproved his request. i
<br />CERTIFICATION OF COIPLETION
<br />IPdIPROVEP:ENT RESOLUTION NO. 2753 - 1953
<br />Certificate of Completion_ was furnished by the civil engineer, Wilbur H. Gartner,
<br />of the contract between the City of South Bend, Indiana, Oi�rner, and Rieth-Riley con-
<br />struction Company, Contractor, for the construction of the pavement improvement on
<br />•
<br />NORTH ILLINOIS STREET From the south line of ulashington Street to the south line of
<br />Linden Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 2753, has been completed in accordance
<br />with plans and specifications for this project.
<br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FINAL ESTITMATE

<br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, j
<br />Indiana, that the Final Estimate and Primary Assessment Roll submitted to the Board
<br />by the City Civil Engineer or his duly authorized representative on this 20th day of
<br />July, 1953 on the improvement known as the NORTH ILLINOIS STREET PAVENENT as described " •
<br />in Improvement Resolution No. 2753-1953, passed by the Board of Public Works and Safety j
<br />on April 13, 1953, and confirmed by said Board on May 18, 1953, be and the same is
<br />hereby adopted, and the Clerk of this Board is hereby requested to give notice of the
<br />hearing of Special Benefits on said Improvement, as required by Section N. 111 or 120
<br />of an Act entitled, ttAn Act Concerning municipal Corporations" approved March 6, 1905.
