<br />On October 24, 2017, bids were received by the Department of Public Works from Rieth-
<br />Riley Construction Co., Inc., Premium Concrete Services, Inc., Walsh & Kelly, Inc., and Selge
<br />Construction Co., Inc. for the above reference project. The bids have been checked and are
<br />mathematically correct or "Engineer Corrected" and contain the required forms. We have
<br />enclosed a copy of the Tabulation of Bids for your records.
<br />The low Bid was from Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc. with a Base Bid in the amount of
<br />$97,370.50 and Add Alternate 1 in the amount of $6,722.00 for a total of $104,092.50. The
<br />Engineer's Estimate for the project was $85,581.00. We recommend that the City of South Bend
<br />accept Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc.'s Base Bid in the amount of $97,370.50 and consider
<br />the Add Alternate as budget allows. An award letter should be forwarded to the contractor you
<br />have chosen for this work.
