�i <br />Petition to improve Garden Lareby-theconstruction of local sewer, bearing twenty <br />signatures , and dated February 23, 1953, was examined and referred to the City Engineer <br />for investigation and report. <br />Excavation Bond for the sum of $10,000 binding Henry Kubiak, was next examined <br />by the Board and approved. <br />Contract Bond furnished by'Edward J. White, Inc. in the sum of $9,472.00, was <br />examined and ordered filed with all papers pertaining to the construction of Fire Station <br />No. 14. <br />Notification. of - change of price schedule, effective at parking- lots- operated by <br />'South -Bend Parking, Inc., bearing date of March 10, 1953p was next examined and ordered <br />filed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned <br />at 12:00 noon. <br />Attest: /-Z�4 /.'rt &';Wt;74 <br />Clerk <br />NEW <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />March 18, 1953 <br />A Special Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held in accordance with legal <br />notice of hearings on Wednesday evening, March 18, 1953, at 7:30 P.M., relative to <br />the following Improvement -Resolutions: <br />Resolution No. 2745 - improvement of north Huey Street from 30 feet south of the <br />south Line of Hamilton Street to 264 feet south of the south line of Hamilton Street <br />by constructing a local sewer. <br />Resolution No. 2746 - improvement of Robinson Street from Bowman Street to Donald <br />Street by constructing asphalt pavement. <br />Resolution No. 2747 - Improvement of Napoleon Boulevard from Notre Dame Avenue <br />through the intersection of St. Louis Boulevard by -constructing Class "C" Pavement. <br />Resolution Ni. 2748 - Improvement of alley between Adams Street and College Street <br />one block north of Vassar by constructing Class "C" type 1 Pavement. <br />Members present were R. S. Andrysiak and Irving A. Hurwich. Chairman of the Board, <br />R. S. Andrysiak opened the meeting by addressing the assembled interested property <br />owners. <br />Mr. Andrysiak first explained the fundamentals and procedure pertaining to the <br />operation of the Barrett Law, point by point, from the filing of petition for an <br />improvement, to the final._and acceptance completion of the construction involved. <br />After explaining various other aspects brought up in the form of questions from the <br />floor, Mr. Andrysiak spread the blue -prints covering each of the projects on separate <br />desks and invited the persons present to assemble in groups and examine the plans for tea <br />particular improvement in which they were concerned. Mr. Andrysiak, assisted by Messrs. <br />Wilbur H. and Richard Gartner, of the engineering firm of W. H.
