<br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2738 - 1952
<br />Certificate of Completion was furnished by the civil engineer, Wilbur H. Gartner,
<br />accompanied by Contractor's Completion Affidavit, of the contract between the City
<br />of South Bend, Indiana, Owner, and the Niles Excavating Company, Contractor, for the
<br />construction of the Local Sewer Improvement on TUXEDO DRIVE from the center line of
<br />Washington Avenue to 190 feet south of the center line of McKinley Avenue, under
<br />Improvement Resolution No. 2738, has been completed in accordance with the plans and
<br />specifications for this project.

<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2738 - 1953
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, By, the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, that the Final Estimate and Primary Assessment Roll submitted to the Board by
<br />the City Civil Engineer or his duly authorized representative on this 9th day of Februa
<br />1953 on the improvement known as the TUXEDO DRIVE LOCAL SEWER, as described in Improve-
<br />ment Resolution No. 2738-1952, passed by the Board of Public Works and Safety on
<br />October 13, 1952, and confirmed by said Board on November 3, 1952, be and the same is
<br />hereby adopted, and the Clerk of this Board is hereby requested to give notice of the
<br />hearing of Special Benefits on said Improvement, as required by Section N. 111 or 120
<br />of an Act entitled, "An Act Concerning Municipal Corporations" approved March 6, 1905•

<br />TRAFFIC DEPART1,1ENT:
<br />The request of Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, for 500 ft. of 2" galvanized
<br />conduit 30 21t galvanized 900 ells was approved by the Board and the Clerk was directed
<br />to proceed with the purchase of this material.
<br />1500 f t. of 7-conductor traffic signal underground cable #12 solid wire, rubber
<br />covered, required by the Traffic Engineer's Department, was brought to the attention
<br />of the'Board. The Board authorized and directed the Clerk to purchase this material.
<br />The need for a #46489 GS4 Crouse -Hinds traffic signal controller, equipped with
<br />(radio interference filter, time switch for automatic flasher operation, and adjustable
<br />(pole band for steel pole mounting, was next- brought to the attention of the Board.
<br />The Board authorized the Clerk to proceed to obtain this controller equipment for the
<br />,traffic Engineer's Department.
<br />The Traffic Engineer's need for a 4 6489 GS!;_ Crouse -Hinds traffic signal controller,!
<br />equipped for use as combined I,Iaster and Secondary Controller, was brought to the attend n
<br />of the Board. The Board authorized the Clerk to proceed to obtain this special controll.
<br />The Traffic Engineer's Department's need for eight two-way one -section adjustable
<br />signals, span wire mounting, with top arm assembly, next had the attention of the Board.
<br />The Clerk was directed to purchase this equipment in accordance with specifications
<br />submitted by the Traffic Engineer, also four two-way three -section traffic signal heads
<br />underground feed, suitable for 14." post mounting, and ten 8t traffic signal posts with
<br />ornament base.
<br />Excavatorts Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, binding Robert L. Braunsdorf,
<br />d/b/a Walter J. Braunsdorf & Son, and Louis M. Seago, Jr. were examined and approved.
<br />Contractor's Bond in the sum of y1,000.00, for G. & G. Construction Co., Inc.
<br />was examined and approved by the Board.
<br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned
<br />at 12:00 Noon.
