<br />The recessed regular meeting of the Board of Public Works met at 1:30 P. M.,
<br />Tuesday, January 13, 1953. All members were present. Minutes of the previous -meeting
<br />were read and approved. Claims of the following suppliers, in the amount of $12,588.85,
<br />were approved and ordered paid:

<br />-The Board approved the issuance of this
<br />permit.

<br />The Board next examined a report from the Northern Indiana Transit, Inc., under
<br />date of January 9, 1953, showing their operation of temporary service along Rockne
<br />Drive to Ironwood Drive and south on Ironwood Drive to McKinley Avenue, thence east
<br />on McKinley Avenue, intended to provide bus service for the McKinley Terrace and
<br />Bercliff. Additions. This report indicated revenue for five weeks operation of $192.21
<br />and cost of operation for the same period as--588.00. The Board, accordingly authorized
<br />• the Northern Indiana Transit Inc. to discontinue the service as of Friday evening,
<br />iJanuary 16th.
<br />The Board then took up the matter of the new sewage disposal system, and in this
<br />I connection directed that Consoer, Townsend and Associates, and G. G. Skelton, Public
<br />Utility Accountant, be,notified to proceed immediately to make a study and submit a
<br />Proposed rate structure.
<br />VACATION RESOLUTION No. 2743
<br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll showing the
<br />award of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of
<br />• ! THE ALLEY NORTH OF OAKWOOD BOULEVARD FROM BERKLEY PLACE TO -THE WEST LINE OF THE NORTH
<br />AND SOUTH ALLEY AND FROM THE EAST LINE OF THE NORTH AND SOUTH ALLEY EAST TO INGLEWOOD
<br />PLACE, UNDER Vacation Resolution No. 2743.

<br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written
<br />remonstrances were filed. The Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of
<br />notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the
<br />several lots have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. The
<br />Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares
<br />same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification, and the
<br />proceedings closed, and the portion. of the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of
<br />benefit assessments from the various property owners so benefited and all proceedings.
<br />had with reference to said street vacation -are hereby sustained.
<br />The Board next discussed the discrepancy discovered in the legal description
<br />used in the legal advertising connected with Vacation Resolution No. 2744, and it was
