<br />Petition of K. H. Morgan and five others for the Pavement on HU-17BOLDT STREET from
<br />the wrest line of Fremont Street to the alley west of Meade Street.
<br />The above six petitions were examined by the Board and referred to the City
<br />Engineer for recommendation. Ray S. Andrysiak, City Civil Engineer, being present, :made
<br />the recommendation that the petition in each instance, be granted. The Board then
<br />directed that the firm of Wilbur H. Gartner & Associates prepare general details,
<br />drawings, specifications and preliminary improvement resolutions for the six pavement
<br />improvements to be constructed and the firm was so notified accordingly.
<br />A Petition bearing twenty signatures, under date of June 7, 1952, for the improve-
<br />ment of Swygart Street from Prairie Avenue to Donald Street, was examined by the Board
<br />land referred to the City Engineer for investigation and recommendation.
<br />j A Petition addressed to the Board by Vaiitcomb & Keller, Inc. to change the name of
<br />the recorded street of Charles Avenue, ( sometimes called Charles Road, or Charles Street,to
<br />j'VThitcomb Avenue, was returned to the Board from the City Engineer and forwarded to the
<br />loffice of the City Clerk to be presented to the Common Council for the necessary action.
<br />A letter addressed to the Board of Safety from Axel VT. Clauson, was read by the
<br />Board and found to be a matter for the attention of the Building Commissioner, and was,
<br />accordingly, referred to that office.
<br />As no representative of the Studebaker Corporation was present, no action was taken
<br />in the matter of vacations and dedications being reconsidered at this time, and origina-ll
<br />offered to the City of South Bend by the Studebaker Corporation under date of March 19,
<br />1923, and accepted by the Board as of !larch 21, 1923.
<br />The following Contractorts Bonds, each in the sum of A01,000.00, were examined and
<br />approved by the Board;

<br />Occupancy Bond in the suar, of �5,000.00 covering Black and Anderson Construction Co.
<br />Inc. was examined by the Board and ordered filed.
<br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned
<br />at 11:30 A. TJ.

<br />SPECIAL IMETING
<br />June 30, 1952
<br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was held at 1:30 otclock, DST
<br />Monday, June 30, 1952. All members were present, also present were George Consoer
<br />and Ralph AToor6house, representing Consoer, Townsend & Associates, Gilbert Kackley,
<br />a representative of the U. S. Fidelity and Guaranty Co., and Eugene Fattore representing
<br />Fattore Company.
<br />All of the liens and claims against the Fattore Company were studied and it was the
<br />decision of the Board to have Fattore Company post a suitable bond, in the amount of
<br />0'8,000.00, to further assure the Board that the City of South Bend will be held free
<br />of any liens or clai ,s filed against the Fattore Company.
<br />It was further agreed that as soon as Bond is posted, the Board will approve for
<br />payment Estimate No. 21,submitted by Fattore Company, for the sum of �13,391.17.
<br />This matter having been the purpose for which this special meeting was called, no
<br />further business was considered and the meeting adjourned at 3:00 P.M.
