Harwich <br />Board of Public Works & Safety <br />J <br />)A letter addressed to the Board from the Amalgamated Association of -Street, <br />IEleatric Railwayand Motor Coach Employees of American, Division No. 996, under date <br />i+of May 20, 1952 was read and ordered placed on file. <br />The following petitions were examined by the Board -and referred to the City <br />ineer for investigation of the improvement requested, and a report of his findings: <br />HUMBOLDT STREET from Fremont Street to alley west of Meade Street. <br />WASHINGTON AVENUE from Ironwood Drive to the East Curb line of Tuxedo Street. <br />WILSON STREET from Ironwood Drive to west property line of Tuxedo -Street. <br />FIRST ALLEY VEST OF MICHIGAN STREET from Donald Street to Ewing Avenue. <br />ALLEY FROM CHAPIN STREET to Prairie Avenue. <br />i <br />A petition for vacating a 121 portion of Woodside Street adjacent to the north <br />!side of the Edwards Iron Works building, as illustrated in drawing accompanying the <br />• ;petition was examined and referred bythe Board to the City Plan Commission. <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Street Commissioner H. M. Tomlinson, was present and took up with <br />rthe Board his personal observations and recommendations in regard to the Meade Street <br />ailroad crossing, over which Olive Street traffic is being temporarily re-routed and <br />'which involves both the New York Central and the South Shore Lines. Question arose as <br />�to which railroad assumes responsibility over a certain portion of right-of-way at <br />this crossing, and the Board agreed the matter should be referred to the City Traffic <br />Ingineer for his investigation and report. <br />A petition for the installing of traffic lights at the corner of Western and <br />Sheridan Avenues was examined and ordered to be referred to the Traffic Engineer for <br />• iinvestigation and report. <br />Contractor's Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 of the Hilton Construction Company,. <br />Inc., was examined and approved by the Board. <br />!� There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:15 A.
