Approval of <br />the Board was granted and letter so certifying is to be supplied the Auxiliary by <br />the Clerk. <br />Mr. J. C. Hughes of Indiana Bell Telephone Co. and Miss Jean Townsend, represent- <br />ing the office of the Board of Health, were present and took up with the Board <br />telephone installations desired by the Health Office. Mr. Hughes suggested that a <br />survey by the telephone company to discover and report on the phone service for the <br />offices throughout the City Hall could be made at no cost to the City. <br />The Board was in accord and asked that the telephone company proceed to make <br />this survey. <br />Mr. Hughes then took up with the Board a proposed installation of outdoor <br />telephone booths at the American Trust Building,corner of Washington and Michigan <br />Streets and at the Court House, corner of Washington and Main Streets, mentioning <br />revenue to be received by -the City from such installations. The Board decided this <br />matter should be held in abeyance and given further consideration at the time the <br />telephone company reports on its City Hall telephone survey. <br />• i Mr. Wilbur H. Gartner was present and the matter of the re -surfacing of Wayne <br />Street from East line of Taylor Street to East line of St. Joseph Street was then <br />taken up for discussion. Drawings submitted by the Civil Engineers, Wilbur H. <br />Gartner & Associates, covering this improvement were examined and approved by the <br />Board. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTIONS CONFIRMED <br />The Board next confirmed the following Improvement Resolutions, pertaining to <br />construction of local sewers: <br />j RESOLUTION NO. 2688 - For the Improvement of ARDMORE TRAIL (CR'UMSTOWN AVENUE) <br />• from Center line of Lincolnway West to center line of <br />lot 8 in Lincoln Manor Second Addition by constructing a <br />i local sewer. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2704 - For the improvement of NORTH ELMER STREET from 625 feet <br />South of center line of Marquette Boulevard to 460 feet <br />North of center line of Marquette Boulevard by constructing <br />a local sewer. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2706 - For the improvement of WALL STREET from the center line of <br />Twyckenham Drive to 220 feet West of the West line of <br />Greenlawn Avenue by constructing a local sewer. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2707 - For the improvement of GERTRUDE STREET from the center line <br />of Ewing Avenue to 1276 feet South of the center line of <br />Ewing Avenue by constructing a local sewer. <br />The Resolutions above described were then adopted and the date of April 7, 1952, <br />the the hour of 11:00 A. M. CST, was set for the opening of bids for these improve- <br />ments. The Clerk was ordered to proceed with the required legal advertising. <br />I <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: <br />• H. M. Tomlinson, Street Commissioner, was present and was informed by the Board <br />of the confirming and adoption of resolution pertaining to the re -surfacing of Wayne <br />i Street. Mr. Tomlinson then brought lip the urgency of the Sample Street Bridge repair <br />work. It was.agreed that the Bridge is to be handled as a separate project and a <br />further study of this particular project will be made by the Street Commissioner and <br />' the City Engineer Tuesday, March 18th. <br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: <br />Ernest H. Miller, Traffic Engineer was present and brought up the matter of <br />installation of traffic signals on streets maintained by the State Highway Commission. <br />Mr. Miller pointed out that these installations are made by and under the supervision <br />I� of Supt. Hunsberger of the Electrical Department. <br />Mr. Miller called attention to the ruling in force, that in cities where parking <br />meters are maintained, the cost of the installation operation and maintaining of <br />
