<br />�A letter was received from Mr. Harvey S. Cover in which he requested information
<br />on converting the storm sewer to a sanitary sewer in front of his home at Chippewa Ave-
<br />nue and South Michigan Street. Mr. Andrysiak, City Engineer, drafted a letter to Mr.
<br />Cover informing him that the storm sewer emptied into an open ditch which eventually
<br />flowed into an open creek running through the city, so there was no possiblity of the
<br />storm sewer every being converted into an sanitary sewer.

<br />!j Mr. Silver Raley appeared before the Board to request permission for an airplane
<br />• j to drop balloons out of the plane to advertise the opening of a new drive-in Theatre.
<br />'1 The Board approved his request.

<br />An application for a taxi -cab license filed by the United Cab Company, Inc., which
<br />was duly advertised and set for hearing on Monday, June 25, 1951 at 10:00 A.M. CST. at
<br />the City Hall. At the request of the applicants this meeting was adjourned until this
<br />date at 2:00 otclock P.M. CST.
<br />Present at the hearing were the Board of Public Works and Safety, Mr. George Sands,
<br />representing the United Cab Company; Mr, James Keating, representing Walter Whitacre,
<br />a member of the public and Secretary of Courtesy Cab Association, and William Heierman,
<br />i a member of the public and President of the Taxi Drivers Local Union No. 141 (AFL) and
