Minutes of the previous meeting were read and <br />l�approved. Salary claims in the amount of 26,123.79 were approved and ordered paid. ENGINEERING: Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters pertain - <br />ling to his department were discussed. <br />Mr. Miller was granted permission to go to Grand Rapids to study parking situations.;; <br />i <br />The Board approved stop signs on Jefferson Street at Maple Street, both sides; Hill <br />top Road at York Road, northeast corner; Southeast Road at York Road, northeast corner;and <br />Dunham Street at Bendix Drive, Both sides. <br />A petition was received requesting the elimination of truck and semi -trailer traffic; <br />Ion Meade Street from Western Avenue to Sample Street. This was referred to Mr. Miller <br />• Ifor investigation and report. <br />;ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractorst Bonds were approved and ordered filed for Harry <br />Allison d b a Allison Contractors Company; Irvin E. Keiter; and Jesse D. Matthews, Inc. <br />Mrs. Andra Brower, 134 North Kenmore Street presented a petition containing forty- <br />Ifive signatures to close the dumping area in the neighborhood of Falcon and Dundee Streets. <br />jThe Board directed that a letter be sent to the Place Construction Company, owners of the,l <br />'above named property, informing them of the said complaints, and the Board further, direct' <br />led that the Place Construction Company on or before May 7, 1951, notify the Board as to <br />;what steps they will take to remedy the existing conditions in the dumping area. <br />• ! The Board approved plans for street improvements on Concord Avenue from Linden Ave., <br />is <br />to Lombardy Drive; and sewer plans for Lombardy Drive, Concord Avenue, and Linden Avenue �' <br />for Garden Homes, Incorporated. !' <br />I <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2660 <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award <br />of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of vacation of CHERRY TREE LANE <br />;from the west line of Ironwood Drive to the west line of Morris Country Club Addition, <br />190 feet long by 60 feet wide under Vacation Resolution No. 2660. <br />I <br />is In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written remon- <br />• istbances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices <br />;hand same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the seveial_lots-andi <br />';parcels of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll.
