<br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, March 19, 1951,
<br />at 9:30 a.m. All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and
<br />approved. Salary claims were approved and ordered aid in the amount of 24,378.13,

<br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters pertaining
<br />to his Department were discussed.
<br />A letter was received from Mrs. Bruce Goffeney, 1201 West Jefferson Boulevard, peti-
<br />tioning for stop signs at Maple Street and Jefferson Boulevard. This was referred to Mr.
<br />Miller for investigation and report.
<br />BUSSES: Northern Indiana Transit, Inc., requested permission to place signs on the ligh
<br />posts in the down town area showing the locations of bus loading stops. Permission was
<br />granted.
<br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's Bond was approved and ordered filed for L. M.
<br />Macumber and Sons.
<br />The Clerk of the Board was directed to advertise for bids for the recapping of Main
<br />Street from Western Avenue to LaSalle Street, bids to be accepted until 11:00 a.m..,
<br />Monday, April 9, 1951.
<br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Melton 0. Brannai.,Street Commissioner, was present and matters per-
<br />Vaining to his department were discussed.
<br />The Board approved a Performance Bond for the Standard Oil Company for materials.
<br />PARKING METER DEPARTMENT: MAURICE C. Vennet, Auditor, presented his report for the week
<br />ending March 17, 1 1.
<br />CEMETERY DEPAR PIENT Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining to
<br />his Department were discussed.
<br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the Meeting was adjourned
<br />at 11:00 a.m.
