j He stated it was the intention of the bus company to put into effect on July 15, 11950, a new schedule which 4 11 increase slightly the length of time elapsing between runs "in the early morning hours and late evening hours on Sunday and the late evening hours !during the week but will in no way effect the present schedules otherwise. It is difficult "to set out in a letter just what these changes are because they vary on different lines, :,but the proposed changes on the various lines conform mi th the schedule �h ich we have dis_ I cussed with you. At this meeting it was agreed by Mr. Smith that this schedule would rem8i n in force only during the summer months and that on September 2, 1950, when the new schedule is ;posted they will restore service to that which is now being given, unless after discussion. of the problem with the Board it is agreed that a revised schedule shall be put into effect. At this time we want to assure you that it is the intention of the company to furnis adequate service at all times and should any emergency or condition arise that will just- ify increased service it will be immediately given. The Contract approved by the Board is in the following words and figures: C O N T R A C T THIS CONTRACT, Made and entered into this 8th day of July, 1950, by and between the CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, acting by and through its Board of Public Works and Safety, hereinafter called the First Party, and NORTHERN INDIANATRAN SIT, INC., a corporation or- ganized under the laws of the State of Indiana, its successors and assigned, hereinafter called the Second Party. WITNESSETH: The parties hereto agree that the certain contract made between the parties and con- firmed by Ordinance of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, on or about the 13th day of May, 1940, as amended by a contract entered into on the 13th day of February, 1948 between the parties and thereafter confirmed by the Common Council, shall be and is here- by amended in each of the following respects: All provisions in said contract, as amended, regarding the charges for token fares are hereby deleted. All provisions in said contract, as amended, as to cash fares and transrl- -rs shall remain the same. The Second Party shall furnish service to the public over the routes now presently established.
