<br />{{Shore and South Bend Railroad informing him that breaks along the tracks of the South Shoe
<br />Pailroad were protruding from four to six inches above ground level causing damage to ca.rg
<br />,by cutting the tires and the jarring of the railroad cars has caused plaster to break in '!
<br />adjacent residences. Mr. Huguenard was a.;ked to contact the railroad with the request
<br />(that this matter be taken care of immediately.,
<br />11GINEERING DEPARTMENT: The Board approved a Contract Bond for the'Rieth-Riley Construe-
<br />tion Company in the amount of $32,768.45 for the resurfacing of East Jefferson Boulevard -I,
<br />'from the West line of Niles Avenue to Eddy Street and West Washington Avenue from Chestnut,+'
<br />street to Main Street. h

<br />The Board approved sewer plans for the Colpaert Realty Company.
<br />The Clerk of the Board was authorized to advertise for a panel truck for the Enginee
<br />ng Department. Bids to be returned on March 20, 1950.
<br />The Cleri of the Board was also authorized to advertise for that portion of the Loga.
<br />treet Bridge which is to be repaired By the City of South Bend. These bids are returnab
<br />n March 27, 1950 at 10:00 a.m. I.
<br />The Colpaert Realty Company filed assessment rolls for sewers on Chicago Street from
<br />ord Street to 150 feet south of Western Avenue; Illinois Street from Ford Street to 150
<br />eet South of Western and Wellington Street from Ford Street to 200 feet South of Western
<br />venue. This work was done by the Miles Excavating Company and paid for by the Colpaert
<br />ealty Company. J'

<br />Mr. Charles Whiting representing the South Bend .Awning Company appeared before the
<br />oard to request permission to install a permanent type awning at 803 South Chapin Streeti!
<br />nd the Board, upon the Engineer's recommendation, approved his request.
