Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer was. present and matters per <br />ing to his Department were discussed. <br />TT�.XI CABS: This being the date set, hearing was held on the application of Coy Rand, Jr. <br />for a Taxi Cab License. The Clerk of the Board 'raving shown proof of publication of the <br />notice, same was found sufficient by the Board. No remonstrators having appeared, and <br />no written remonstrances having been filed with the Clerk, the Board granted the above <br />application. <br />ENGITTIIEERG DEPAR'T' � i,T:: Excavation Bond's in the amount of 1,000 were approved and ordered <br />filed for the following: Edward J. ':Ihite; Ed L. Zimmerman, and John W. Rensberger. � <br />A petition was received asking for the vacation of alley running north and south <br />from East Campeau Street to East Chalfant Stroet and vacation of alley running east and <br />west from North Arthur Street to North Eddy Street. TIis was referred to the City Plan <br />Commission for investigation and report. <br />A petition was received requesting the vacation of the North and South alley lying <br />between said lots nuabered One Hundred Forty-three (143) and One Hundred Forty -Four (144) <br />from Ewing Avenue to the alley lying at trie North end of the aforesaid lots. This was <br />referred to the City Plan Commission for investigation and report. <br />A petition was received, signed by nineteen (19) property owners, requesting the <br />improvement of alley between LaSalle Avenue and McKinley Street from. Twickenham Drive <br />to Esther Street by the construction_ of a concrete pavement. T:,.is was referred to the <br />City Engineer. <br />RAILROADS: Letter was received from the Grand Trunk Railroad System signed by L. L. <br />Thompson, Freight Agent informing the Board that 111r. erns; had authorized the Indian, <br />and Michigan Electrical Company to install a street light at the Grand Trunk Tracks at <br />Ironwood Drive. This was in'response to a letter from. the Board requesting said instal- <br />lation. <br />PARKING METER DEFA,I,' i!TZ'IT: Mr. Maurice C. Vennet, Auditor, presented his report for the <br />week ending January 15, 1950. <br />CEMETERY DEPARTI�=: 1,•L�.
