Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />'The Board denied the request of the American -Bus Lines to remove a parking meter <br />in front of their office at 322 East Jefferson Street inasmuch as ample study was made <br />of their location prior to the establishing of their loading and unloading zone and <br />both the City Engineer and the Traffic Engineer feel that the size of their lot does <br />not justify any expansion of their driveway facilities. <br />TAXI CABS: <br />Mr. Joseph Binder, representing the Twin City Taxi Company was directed to,appear <br />before the Board on Monday, September 19, 1949 to show cause why a taxi cab stand in the! <br />• 100 block of North Main Street should not be removed and this space returned for general' <br />i <br />public use. <br />it ENGINEERING DEPARTMZU T: <br />Ij Contractor's Bonds in the amount of1,000.00 were approved and ordered filed for I <br />Ernest L. Er.�rnons. <br />j A petition to improve an alley between Scott and Taylor Streets from <br />II <br />Dubai1 to Calvert Street with a concrete pavement was referred to the City Engineer for !' <br />II� investigation and report. <br />l <br />The Board approved sewer plans for Hoke Street in Willmore Hills, Section "B" for <br />the Hrown Development Co_rpa.ny, Inc. The Board- also approved paving plans for Hoke Street <br />and paving plans for Irvington Avenue, also located in 1,1illmore Hills, Section ►'B" <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stephen Lebiedzinski, Ass't Superintendent, was present and <br />matters pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />I <br />Mr. Lebiedzinslv--i informed the Board that '_nand railings at the track elevation at <br />Arnold Street and Walnut Street wer in need of repair.
