LAVER LgALAVA The Board received a communication from the Common Council wherein they indicated that residents from the East side of the City appeared before the Council to complain about the dump located on South Bend Avenue. The Council recommended that the dump be closed for a month and the Board of Public Works and Safety was directed to solve the problem. NOW, THEREFORE, Thomas Luce and Harry Folk, Omer and Operator respectively of a dump located in the 1300 block of South Bend Avenue were notified by registered mail that the dump must be closed for a period of thirty days (30) effective this date. Authority to re -open the dump will not be granted unless the owner and operator are • able to present the Board with a program of operation which will eliminate the nuisance that is now being created. A communication was received from the Common Council indicating that the residents of the West Side of the City complained of the condition of the pavement of Albert Street and near -by streets and they referred the matter to the Board of Public Works and Safety for study. The Board discussed this matter and Mr. Andrysiak, City Engineer, as directed to do everything in his power to co-operate with the Common Council to try to work out a solution for conditions now existing on Albert Street and other streets. VACATION RESOLUTION No. 2596 Mr. Raymond Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the awards of damages and the assessments of benefits in the matter of the vacation of part of the Alley west of VERNON STREET from Dubail Avenue north a distance of one hundred fourteen (1141) feet under Vacation Resolution No. 2596. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lots numbered 14 to 19 and 27 to 33 inclusive, Leer's First Addition also Lots numbered 21, 22 and 23 Lihcoln School Addition. • In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that it will meet in the City Hall at 11:00 A. M. on the 19th day of September, 1949, for the purpose of hearing and receiving remonstrances from. all persons interested in or affected by said vacation, and the Board further orders that notice of said hearing, together with the amount of damages awarded and benefits assessed be addressed to the property owners by publishing same on the 2nd day of September and on the 9th day of September, 1949, in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the Weekly Mirror.
