All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and ap- <br />proved. Salary claims in the amount of $27,673.78 were approved and ordered paid. Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and <br />matters per <br />taining to his Department were discussed. <br />Rev. Otto Y ount of the First Church of God requested permission of the <br />board to <br />use a part of Rush Street just off Pennsylvania Avenue for a playground for a period of <br />one hour each morning for his Daily Bible School children. This school will <br />be in session <br />Monday through Friday for two, weeks June 20th to July 1, 1949, inclusive. This was re- <br />ferred to Mr. Miller for investigation and report. <br />Mr. Miller informed the Board that stop signs had been installed on the <br />following <br />Streets: Brookfield Street at Huron Street, both sides; Huron Street at Koscuiszko <br />Street, both sides, Camden Street at Ford Street, both sides; Carroll Street <br />at Pennsyl-' <br />vania Avenue, both sides, Jackson Street at Huron Street, both sides; Marietta Street at': <br />Broadway, both sides ; Pulaski Street at Huron Street, both sides, Arthur Street at <br />Cedar Street, both sides. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: <br />Contractor's Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 were approved and ordered filed for <br />Oden R. Robertson; Edward Burton; John Tatich. <br />i <br />A petition was presented asking for the vacation of an alley between Lots 60 & 62 <br />in the Grady and Clark addition to the City of South Bend, which alley runs from Bryan <br />Street north to the rear alley.
