ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA,AMENDING SECTIONS 2-84.9(c) AND 2-84.9 (e) OF CHAPTER 2, <br /> ARTICLE 6 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO <br /> TAX ABATEMENTS <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> It is the intention of the City of South Bend to provide assurance to the public that <br /> taxpayer subsidies through tax abatements are used to provide real benefits to the community <br /> and that companies receiving taxpayer subsidies via tax abatements are complying with the <br /> terms of the abatement throughout the life of the abatement. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: <br /> Section I. Chapter 2, Article 6, Sections 2-84.9(c) and(e) are amended to read as follows: <br /> Sec. 2-84.9.—Advisory review by Community Investment Department. <br /> (c) Within fifteen(15)days from the receipt of the documents from the Office of the City Clerk,the <br /> Community Investment Department shall prepare a written report setting forth a review of its advisory <br /> findings. The report shall be sent to the Council's Community and Economic Development Committee,to <br /> the City Clerk, and to the petitioner.The report shall be included in the Council's packet of materials and <br /> shall be posted and maintained online on the City of South Bend's website. <br /> (e) The Community Investment Department's report shall also attach to it a copy of the <br /> petition and statement of benefits form and all attachments thereto. The attachments shall <br /> include all documentation in support of benefits points awarded and all documentation in <br /> support of the minimum wage requirement set forth in 2-76.3(3). Any documentation <br /> divulging personal information about any employee of the petitioner, or about any employee <br /> of the petitioner's construction contractors or subcontractors, shall be redacted. <br /> Member of the Common Council <br /> Attest: <br /> City Clerk <br />
