462 <br />December 21, 1948 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public 1,3orks was held on Tuesday, December 21, <br />1948 at 10:30 A.M. All members were present. <br />The meeting was called for the purpose of accepting bids for the equipment for the <br />Street Department. The bids having been tabulated, the Board made the following awards, <br />these bids being, in the :hoard's opinion, the lowest and best bids submitted: <br />Ben Mcdow, Inc. 5 truck @ $1,470.50 each less trade-in allowances, making <br />atota.1 $6902. �O. 9 <br />Korte Bros. 1 Chip spreaders @ $407.00 less trade-in allowance of $65.00 <br />There being no further business -to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 11:00 A.M. <br />ATTEST: <br />Clerk <br />December 27, 1948 <br />�I <br />BOY D OF WORKS �� • <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, December 27, <br />1948 at 9:00 A.14. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per- <br />taining to his department were discussed. <br />Mr. Miller presented the following list of stop signs, which the Board approved: <br />Inglewood Place at Woodlatam Avenue, both sides <br />Kessler Boulevard at 11oodlawn Avenue, northeast corner <br />Huron Street a.t Kaley Street, both sides <br />Vassar Avenue at Wilbur Street, northeast corner <br />PARKING T,iETER DEPARTMENT: Tyr. 1 aurice Vennet, Auditor, filed his report for the week <br />ending December 27,719'8. <br />The minutes were ordered changed to the effect that the one -hour period should be <br />changed to two-hour periods on St. Joseph Street fromL'r�estern to Pionroe Street and on <br />South Street from N_ichiga.n to St. Joseph Street, as soon as the plates and signs are <br />ready, <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT_: A Petition was received asking for the installation of a sewer <br />on Illinois Street from Ford Street to the alley South of Western Ivenuc. This was <br />referred to the City Engineer for investigation. <br />A petition was received asking for the installation of a sezrer on Chicago Street <br />from Ford Street to the alley south of Western Avenue.
