<br />The Board approved a sewer easement on a lot owned by the Mennonite Board of Missio
<br />•,'and Charities Trustees, a fifteen foot strip of land off of and from the entire east
<br />.side of Lot #3 in Ruckman's lst subdivision to the City of South Bend.
<br />_ A letter was received from the City Plan Commission indicating that theyapprove
<br />the vacation of a part of East Victoria Street between Twyckenha.m Drive and York Road.
<br />she Engineering Department wad directed to prepare a vacation resolution for same.
<br />• �. Mr. R. S. Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the award
<br />f damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of she vacation of the first all
<br />`South of Jennings Avenue from Michigan Street East to the West line of the North and
<br />South alley under Vacation Resolution No. 2582.
<br />In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that it will meet in th
<br />i City Hall on November 29, 191+8 at 11:00 A.14. for the purpose of hearing and receiving
<br />remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by said 'vacation, and the Board
<br />further orders that notice of said hearing, together with the amount of damages awarded
<br />( and benefits assessed be addressed to the property owners by publishing same on the
<br />112th day of November and on the 19th day of November, 1948 in the South Bend,Da.ily Tri-
<br />bune and the Weekly i•<irror.

<br />Whereas, the Board of Public Works, did on the 26tb'rday of October 1948, adopt a
<br />Preliminary Order designating a Class C. Type 41 Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous
<br />j Concrete Surface as the kind of Pavement for the improvement of Sibley Avenue from the
<br />! West line of Wilber Street to the east line of College Street in accordance with Improve
<br />ment Resolution No. 2580 1948, passed by this Board on September 30, 1948.
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, That the Preliminary Order is hereby, in all thingz confirmed and
<br />j sa.id street ordered paved with a. Class C. Type 4, Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous
<br />I. Concrete Surface Pavement.

<br />• AWARDING CONTRACT
<br />After due investigation of all bids and being duly advised in the premises, the
<br />Board of Public Works and Safety decides that the bid of the Rieth-Tiley Construction
<br />Company for the construction of the improvement known as Sibley Avenue Pavement improve-
<br />ment Resolution according to Improvement Resolution No. 2580 1948 is the lowest and best
<br />bid and that the contract to do said work be awarded to the Rieth-Riley Construction
<br />Company, said bid being*.as follows:
