This was referred to the Traffic Engineer, <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The Board approved sewer plans on Altgeld Street and York Road <br />in Twyckenham Hills Addition for the Crown Development.Company. <br />ry <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2581 <br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution heretofore adopted by <br />the Board of Public Works for the vacation of Hill Street from Napoleon Boulevard to <br />the South line of Peashway Street and from the North line of Peashway Street to the <br />South line of Angela Boulevard under Vacation Resolution No. 2581. The Clerk of the <br />Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and no remonstrators having appeared; <br />and no written remonstrances having been filed with the Clerk, it was moved, seconded <br />and unanimously carried that the said resolution be finallyadopted and the said street <br />be vacated. The Engineering Department is directed to prepare an assessment roll cover <br />ing the assessment of benefits and the award of damages to the surrounding properties. <br />Mr. Victor Freeman and Mr. Oare appeared before the Board to present a petition! <br />to vacate an alley between Lots 69 and 70"in Martin's Addition to the City of South <br />Bend. This was referred to the City Engineer. <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Melton 0. B. <br />Moorhead, representing <br />the Junior Chamber of Commerce, <br />came <br />before the Board to request <br />permission to place <br />tags on the parking meter posts <br />in con- <br />nection with Education Week, <br />reminding people <br />to visit the schools. The matter <br />was <br />taken under advisement., <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A <br />Contractor's bond <br />in the amount of $1,000.00 was approved <br />wnd ordered filed for Belleville <br />Lumber & Supply <br />Company. <br />-A letter was received from the City Plan Commission indicating that they do not <br />recommend the closing of the alley between Lot No.-7 in Cottrell's lst Addition and,Lot <br />No. 49 in the Original Plat of Lowell_, as petitioned for by the New York Central Railroad. <br />The Board, therefore, refused the petition. <br />A letter was received from the City Plan Commission indicating that they recommend <br />the vacation of the first alley South of Jennings Street from South Michigan Street East;' <br />to the West line of the North and South alley.
