4.10 Special 111eeting, September 21 1948 A special meeting of -the Board of Public Works was held on Thursday, September 21 �I 1948 at 7:30 P.M. Mr. Baer was absent. The meeting was called for the purpose of holding public hearings on improvements. �I IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2573, 1948 South Bend, Indiana it September 2, 1948 II li •Department of Public Works i! For the improvement of South Jackson Street Under Improvement Resolution No. 25739 1948 adopted August 9, 1948 from North line of Sample Street to South line of Dunham Street by draining, grading and paving the roadway,with a Class "C" pavement as follows Type 1 - Portland Cement Concrete; Type 2 - Bit -urinous Compacted Aggregare Base, Bitum- inous Concrete Surface; Type 3 - Bituminous Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Coated Aggregate Surface; Type 4 - Compacted Aggregate B,,,se, BiCamin0 _s Concrete Sufface; Type 5 - Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Coated Aggregate Surface. After hearing all persons interested who appeared and being fully advised in the i premises, the Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the cstimated cost of the same as reported by the City Civil Engineer' Thereforei Be it resolved, by the Board of Public Works and Safet:/ of the City of South Bend, I Indiana, that improvement Resolution No. 2573, 19?-8, duly passed by this Board on August 9, 1Q48 for the above improvement, be and the sarie is hereby in all things con- I� firmed and the improvement is hereby ordered to be made. j R. Street by drain-'i • ing, grading and paving the roadway with a class "C" pavement Types 1 to 5 inclusive be and the same are hereby adopted and ordered placed on file in the office of the De- partment of Engineering of this Board. �I September 27, 1948 at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A.11.1. C.D.T. is hereby fixed as the time,and the office of the Board of Public .,%orks and S-,fety in the City Pall of this City as the place, when and w1nere the Board of Public :4or1_1Ts aid Safety will open and con- sider bids for the above named improvement, provided all bids for the construction of said work shall be filed in the office of the Clerk of this Board before 10:00 o tclock A.M. O.D.T. of said day. Bach bidder for said work shallenclose with his bid a certi- fied check, payable to the Treasurer of this City in the sum of t.o and one-half 22 per cent of the amount of his bid or a bid bond for two and one-half 22 per cent of the I! amount of his 'aid, to insure the execution of this contract, if said work is awarded to �� • him. The Clerk of this Board is hereby ordered to give notice by two ?.veck_y publications of the time and place, when and ::there bids will be received, opened and considered for the construction of said work.
