<br />TRAFFIC DEPARTI,ENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per-
<br />taining to his department were discussed.
<br />A petition teas received requesting the installation of a. traffic signal at the
<br />intersection of Lincoln Way West and Lau-ndale Avenue. This was referred to 1,r, Miller
<br />for investigation and report. i
<br />Mr. Reeder of the St. Joseph Bank appeared before the Board to petition for per-
<br />mission to install a device on the curb alongside the bank with which to transact bank
<br />business from automobiles. The Board denied this request as, in their opinion, it
<br />constitutes a, traffic hazard., �I

<br />ENGINEERING DEPARTIEKT: Excavation bonds were approved and ordered_ ,filed for George A.
<br />Aslin and Riggs Plumbing and Heating Cor_pany of I,Iisha,+gala, Indiana. it

<br />.Contractorts bond s were approved and ordered filed for Indiana Black_ Top Construe-1

<br />A petition was received requesting the eliminati,on of a srloke n-pisaTice and traffic
<br />hazard caused by the Sough Bend Sr.elting and Refining,Company, 1610 Circle Avenue. The

<br />City Engineer was directed to investigate conditions,.and the City Attorney was directed
<br />to write a letter to the company. -

<br />A permit was issued to the Elk's Temple allowing -the construction of aboard side-
<br />walk out in the street and closing of the-�Iialk' and alley on West Colfax while their
<br />building is being remodeled.

<br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award
<br />of damages and the assessment of benefits in the._matter of the vacation of the second !�
<br />alley West of Main Street from Woodside Street to the South line of the alley North of jl
<br />Woodside Street, and, the alley North of 1-Yoodside Street from the West line of the first 1
<br />alley West of Pain Street to the Pennsylvania Railroad right-of-way, under Vacation 1
<br />Resolution No. 2565.
<br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written're-
<br />monstrances were filed, The Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices;
<br />and same were found sufficient. The Board, therefore, finds that the several lots and
<br />parcels of land have been benefitted and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll, and !�
<br />the Board, therefore, decides to t-ake final action on said assessment roll and declares
<br />-
<br />same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification, and the proji
<br />ceedings closed, and the alleys vacated upon receipt of the amount,of benefit assessmentd
<br />from the various property Owners so benefitted and all proceedings had with reference to
<br />said alley vacation are hereby sustained.

<br />North of Elwood Aver -Lie from Elmer Street, 1,• est to the East line of the alley ?pest of
<br />Elmer Street under Vacation Resolution No. 2566.
