388 Special Meeting July 13, 1948 A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Tuesday, July 137 1948 at 11:00 A.1. All members were present. The meeting was called for the purpose of considering the bids on parking meters previously received. All bids submitted by the various manufacturers of parking deters were considered and the proposal submitted by the Dual Parking T,ieter Company of Canton Ohio was accepted as being, in the Board's opinion, the best bid, The City is to purc7 the meter. with the sealed container. In accordance with the terms submitted in their proposal, the Dual Parking Meter Company is to do the installing of the rxleters in the city. installation and parking specifications :are to be worked out by the Dual Company Engineer and the City Traffic Engineer. Kline, Adams Roofing' and Construction Company, Schuell Nursery and Raymond Rossi. A petition was received asking for the vacation of the first alley South of Jennings Street from South Mlichigan Street East to the Idest line of the North and South alley. This was referred to the I ayor and the City Plan Commission. The Board approved the plans for paving Ford Street for the Colpaert Realty Company. The Board approved plans for paving Altgeld Street and also plans for grading, paving and a local sewer on York Road for the Twyckenham Hills Addition being developed by the Place Company. The Board received a recommendation from aymond A. Andrysiak, City Civil Engineer, that the petition for the improvement of O'Brien Strect .from ,Washington Avenue North to-' the 300 block inclusive be granted. Which recomrlendation was in the following words and figures, to -wit: Gentlemen: Referring to the attached petition of Steven Molnar, 229 North O'Brien atreet, and twenty-eight others for the improvement of O'Brien Street from 'dashington A enue North to the 300 block inclusive I would recommend that the petition be granted; Very ;respectfully, R.
