<br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, May 17, 1948
<br />i at 9:30 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and

<br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr, Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters pertain-
<br />ing to his department were discussed.
<br />Mr. Newhard, Principal of the Colfax School, requested that the 500 block of
<br />Harrison Avenue be closed to traffic on May 26, 191+8 between 12:00 noon and 8:30 P.M.
<br />for the purpose of holding a school celebration. The Board approved his request and
<br />Mr. Miller was directed to barricade the street on the said date.
<br />The bid of Ben Mddow, Inc,, was accepted for one one ton express truck for the
<br />traffic department for $1,380,50 with a trade in allowance for one 1941 Chevrolet
<br />truck of $100,00,
<br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's bonds were approved and ordered filed for Harry
<br />N. Barnes and Benjamin Buchholtz.

<br />DEDICATION
<br />WHEREAS, a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon in now
<br />presented to the Board, to be known as Pinhook Manor, an addition to South Bend, Indiana,;
<br />and
<br />This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works and
<br />jSafety in Row #21, Drawer #4, and recorded in Book 17, Page P, in the Recorder's office
<br />of St. Joseph County,
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
<br />of South Bend, Indiana, that all ptblic,streets,alleys and public places dedicated to
<br />the public use in said plat are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on
<br />l behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana.

<br />The Board approved plans for local sewers on Dayton Street, Vernon Street and Dubail
<br />!Avenue for Whitcomb & Keller, Inc.

<br />CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining'
<br />to his department were discussed.
