No action was taken until a <br />report could be obtained from Mr. Miller, the Traffic Engineer. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMEi NT; A petition was received asking for the vacation of the alley <br />n;° <br />South of Frederickson Street from JohStreet East to the first alley West of Johnson <br />Street. No action was taken at this time. <br />An excavation bond was approved and ordered filed for C. R. Randolph,. <br />Mr. Postma of Sears, Roebuck & Company came before the Board to ask for an extensi <br />of time on the permission granted to them to erect pre -fabricated buildings on a lot at <br />529-South Michigan Street. The right to install or erect said pre -fabricated buildings <br />which was granted to Sears,Roebuck & Company is hereby extended from the date of this <br />meeting until March 28, 1949 under the same conditions as has prevailed. <br />Vacation Resolution No. 2560 <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award <br />of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of the.alley, <br />South of Western Avenue from LaFayette Boulevard to the East line of the alley West of <br />LaFayette Boulevard, Also the alley West of LaFayette Boulevard from Western A,,enue to <br />the North line of the alley South of Western Avenue under Vacation Resolution 2560. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written <br />remonstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of-t <br />notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the severa <br />lots and parcels of land have been benefitted and damages in the amounts shown on the <br />said roll. The Board, however, decides not to take final action on the said assessment <br />roll at this meeting and continues the hearing until a later date. <br />P ursuant to the requirements of the Statutes of the State of Indiana, (Sec. 48- <br />7303, Burns Indiana Statutes, 1933), notice is hereby given that The Studebaker Corpor- <br />ation proposes to enter into an agreement with the Board of Public Works and Safety of <br />the City of South Bend, Indiana; that as required by law said Board has tentatively <br />determined the exact form in which such agreement is to be finally adopted to be as. <br />follows <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />0 <br />
