<br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held at 9:30 A.M, on Monday,
<br />January 5, 1948. All members were resent, Minutes of the last meeting were read
<br />and approved,' There were no claims of suppliers to'be approved.
<br />TRAFFIC DEPAR=-NT: Mr, Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters
<br />pertaining to his department were discussed.
<br />TAXI -CABS: Mr. Donald Brooks, 1102 31st Street, came before the Board to ask per-
<br />mission to put three taxi -cabs into use on the City Streets. The Board took no
<br />action, pending the approval of a new taxi -cab ordinance which is being prepared.
<br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The Indiana and Michigan Electric Company having requested
<br />permission to install.additional underground facilities on Lincoln Way East between
<br />Carroll and Columbia Streets, upon the recommendation of the City Engineer and the
<br />Electrical Superintendent, the Board approved the request.
<br />Excavation bonds were approved and ordered filed for Hamilton Plumbing & Heating
<br />Company, Inc., William H. Burke, W.W. Sibley and W, P. Sibley d/b/a Sibley Plumbing
<br />and Heating Company, Vitor Trippel, Ward B. Johnston and John W, Ransberge.r.
<br />Vacation Resolution No. 2559
<br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the
<br />awards of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of
<br />Vermont Plance and Revere Place from their North Terminus to Sample Street; And
<br />The alley West of Revere Place from the North line of Belle Village, lst unit, to
<br />Sample Street.
<br />The following is a list of all the owners or holders of property, and of all
<br />interests herein, and of all property injuriously or beneficially affected by the
<br />vacation of said streets and alleys:
<br />Belleville Investment Company, Colpaert Realty Corporation and Portage Realty
<br />Corporation, who are the owners of the following described real estate in St. Joseph
<br />County Indiana. -
<br />Lots No, 373, 374 and 375 in Belleville Third Unit and
<br />Lots No. 768 to 815 Inclusive in Belle Village First Unit
<br />T#o Board now proceeds to award damages sustained and to assess the benefits
<br />accruing to each piece of property on the foregoing list.
<br />The Board now finds that no piece of property on the foregoing list will be inei
<br />furiously or beneficially affected by the vacation of said streets and alleys.
<br />And now comes Belleville Investment Company, Colpaert Realty Corporation and
<br />Portage Realty Corporation and files the following waiver:
