<br />A letter was received aksing for the installation of a traffic light at Portage
<br />and De Maude Avenues and blinker lights at Portage and Angela Avenues, also an in-
<br />vestigation of traffic conditions the entire length of Portage Avenue. -This was
<br />referred to the Traffic ::engineer.
<br />BUSSES: The following resolution was adopted: Because the Bus Companies are using
<br />areas outside of loading zones for lay -over purposes; for cleaning equipment and
<br />dumping refuse in the City,Streets; due to the fact that double parking and parking
<br />at an angle are obstructing traffic; due to the fact that no additional space -can be
<br />allocated to them without injury to the public, effective September 1, 1947 there
<br />will be no more loading zone on rYest Jefferson Boulevard at LaFayette Boulevard.
<br />The space is now vacated and the space is allocated to public parking space and the
<br />ii Traffic ,ngineer is instructed to remove all signs and other curb markings to give
<br />effect to this notice.
