Minutes o,;: the last meeting were read and <br />approved. There were no claims of suppliers to be approved. <br />TRAFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Ernest I;iiller, Traf'ic. Engineer,^ras present and matters <br />per aining o his department were discussed. <br />Mr. Miller was granted permission to attend a meeting; of the Midwest Safety <br />Conference in Chicago, on TIay 6 and 7th. Mr. Steve Ivancovics was granter per- <br />mission to attend the meeting on May 7th. <br />The Board approved the plat of the J. Kuharic Addition to the City of South <br />Bend. <br />TA1HT-'CAPS : A betition was received from the Te terans cab Company asking for one <br />more cab stand providing for at least -two and possibly three cabs. This was re- <br />ferred to Mr. Miller for investigation. <br />ENGI E RING D:;PARTTrIETNT: An Excavation bond was approved and ordered filed for <br />' . z com an . Robinson <br />ii to Caroline Streets, and the Board <br />upon !,Tr. ui iller <br />t s recoi-?_ze_n_dation, <br />approved his <br />1 request and directed that "No Parki <br />n�-" signs be <br />placed. <br />i <br />A letter was received from <br />the Polish-Ar:erican <br />;usinessmenr s and <br />Prof6ssional <br />Association relative to parking <br />-roblem& T=,e <br />Board directed that a <br />letter be sent <br />to them thanking them for their <br />interest and assuring <br />their:: that their <br />views will <br />receive careful consideration. <br />A letter was received i rom the O t Brien Varnish Company asking permission to close <br />North O'Brien Street f ror� the Corner of ':Iashington Street for a distance of 100 yards <br />while an addition to their building is being constructed. The Board discussed the <br />matter znrith Tyr.
