All members were present. IYUnutes of the last meeting were <br />read and approved. Claims of the following suppliers in the amount of $204.87 <br />were approved and ordered paid: <br />L. 0. Gates Chev. Corp. $ 2.82 Indiana Bell Telephone Co. 16.84 <br />L. 0. Gates Chev. Corp. .79 Sheehan Tire Service 19.00 <br />City IrTater Works 4.38 South Bend Siftn.d & Gravel 2.37 <br />LaSalle Door Check Service 10.05 Hdward. J. white 90.20 <br />Royal Typewriter Co. 2.25 ;'Jest Side Hardware Co. 52.50 <br />Schilling's Inc. 3.67 <br />TRAFFIC DEPARWENT: I,Ir. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer., -was present and matter.f <br />per taa o z s epartment were discussed._, <br />ii ENGINEERING DEPARnTENT: A Contractors bond was approved and ordered filed for <br />• <br />i Charles E. Dempsey. <br />I <br />Sears Roebuck and Company were given permission to install and erect <br />some small prefabricated garages and farm buildings, temporarily for display <br />purposes, on the T operty located at 529 South Michigan Street. <br />• <br />0 <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Casimer Balka, Street Cor.�nissioner, was present and matter <br />per5aln ng Eo is department were discussed. <br />The Board accepted the bid of riorte Brothers for one 1000 gallon distributor <br />.and truck, and 1 heavy duty Motor Grader at a total price of $11,112.66, their <br />bid being, in the Boards opinion, the lowest and best bid received. <br />The Board accepted the bid of the Scherman-Schaus-Freeman Company for one <br />1947 Studebaker 1 ton pick up truck at $951.13, their bid being the only one <br />received.. <br />1,1r. Andrew Toth, Architect, presented the complete set of plans and specifi- <br />cations for the new Street Department building. These plans and specifications <br />were approved by the Board,- <br />C ,.,,IETERY DEPARUNIENT: 1Ar.
