Stanley Leszczynskip Sexton, was present and matters per <br />aznsng o l epartment were discussed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 11:00 A*Ms <br />March 24, 1947 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public -forks was held on Monday, March 24, <br />1947 at 8:30 A.I. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were <br />read and approved. Claims of the following suppliers in the amount of $204.87 <br />were approved and ordered paid: <br />L. 0. Gates Chev. Corp. 2.82 <br />L. 0. Gates Chev. Corp. .79 <br />City Water Works 4.38 <br />LaSalle Door Check -Service 10.05 <br />�I Royal Typewriter Co. 2.25 <br />j; Schilling?s Inc. 3.67 <br />Indiana Bell Telephone Co. <br />Sheehan Tire Service <br />South Bend Sfvn.d a Gravel <br />Edward. JVhi -te <br />,Jest Side Hardware Co. <br />s 16.84 <br />19.00 <br />2.37 <br />90.20 <br />52,50 <br />TRAFFIC DEPARU.,IENT: Mr. Ernest IJiller, Traffic Engineer.. -was present and matterff <br />pertaining to His Uepartnent were discussed.. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A Contractorss bond was approved and ordered filed for <br />Charles E. Dempsey. _ <br />Sears Roebuck and Company were given permission to install and erect <br />some small prefabricated garages and farm buildings, temporarily for display <br />purposes, on the p?operty located at 529 South Michigan Street, <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: tr. Casimer Balka, Street Commissioner, was present and matter <br />pei.Tainzng o is department were discussed. <br />The Board accepted the bid of Norte Brothers for one 1000 gallon distributor <br />and truck, and 1 heavy duty Motor Grader at a total price of �11,112.66, their <br />bid being, in the Boardss opinion, the lowest and best bid received. <br />• �� The Board accepted -the bid of the Scherman-Schaus-1ireeman Company for one <br />1947 Studebaker 2 ton pick up truck at $951.13, their bid being the only one <br />received, <br />Mr. Andrew Toth, Architect, presented the complete set of plans and specifi. <br />cations for the new. Street Department building.
