246 <br />NL : fn <br />We would appreciate your notifying us if such an arrangement is made. <br />Very truly yours, <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY <br />Condemnation Resolution No. 2547 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AYD SAFETY OF THE CITY OP SOUTH BEND., <br />INDIANA: That it is deemed and desired necessary to open_ and. extend Wilber Street to a <br />uniform width of sixty (60) feet,from the center line of Elwood Avenue to the center li <br />of Keller Street in the City of South Bend., In St. Joseph County of the State of Indian <br />by the condemnation and appropriation of sufficient lots and lands for such opening, <br />specifically described az follows; to wit: Beginning at the southeast corner of Sectia <br />thirty-four (34), Township Thirty-eight (38) north, Range two(20 East; thence west a- <br />long; the south line of said section, a distance of thirty feet; thence north parallel t <br />and thirty (30) feet ,Jest of the east line of said Section thirty-four (34), a distance <br />of one thousand three hundred twenty-eight and three tenths (1,328.3) feet to the cente <br />line of Keller Street; thence east along the center line of Keller Street, a distm.ce <br />of sixty (60) feet; thence south thirty (30) feet east of and parallel to the east line <br />of said Section thirty-four (34) , a distance of one thousand three hundred twenty-eigh <br />and three tenths (1,328.3) feet to the center line of Elwood Avenue; thence west along <br />the center line of Elwood Avenue thirty (30) feet to the point of beginning, excepting <br />so much of the above described strip of land as has already been dedicated to the _pub- <br />lic use, all as shown by a plat of such proposed opening; now on file in the office of t: <br />Department of Public Works and Safety of said City. <br />The property which may be injuriously or beneficially affected in the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana by the opening and extension of said Jilber Street as above describ <br />is kn.owh and described as the ground herein proposed to be condemned and appropriated <br />therefoh, and are all the lots and lands and parcels of lots lying; within the following <br />described territory in the City of South Bend, Indiana, to grit:. Beginning at the south <br />east corner of Section Thirty-four (34), Township Thirty-eight (38) north, Rage two <br />(2), East; thence west along the center line of Elwood Avenue, a distance of one hun- <br />dred sixty-four and six tenths (164.6) feet; thence north one hundred sixty-four and <br />six tenths (164.6) feet Nest of and parallel to the east line of said Section thirty- <br />four (34), a distance of one thousand three hundred twenty-eight and three tenths <br />(1,328.3) feet to the center line of Keller Street; thence east along the center line o_ <br />Keller Street, a distance of three hundred twenty-eight and five hundredths (328.05) <br />feet; thence south, a distance of five hundred sixty and one tenth (560.1) feet; thence <br />west, a distance of twelve and twenty-three hundredths (12.23) .feet; thence south, a <br />distance of seven hundred sixty-nine (769) feet to the center line of .Elwood Avenue; <br />thence west along the center line of Elwood Avenue, a distance of one hundred fifty <br />and sixty-seven hundredths (150.67) feet to the point of beginning, all as shown by a <br />plat of such territory now on file in the office of the Depar jn ent of Public Works and <br />,Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />The Board of Public Works has set April 15, 1946 as a day upon which remonstrances <br />may be filed or presented by persons interested in or affected by said proposed opening'; <br />and extension as above described, and on said day at 11:00 otclocy a.m. said Board wilt <br />meet at its office for the purpose of '_nearing and considering any remonstrances which j <br />may have been filed or presented, and for the purpose of taking final action thereon. <br />Such action shall be final and conclusive upon all persons. <br />ATTEST: <br />James P. Cummings, <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC 7ORKS <br />The Board approved the revised plans for the Harquee of a building being altered <br />at 230 Norch Michigan Street. <br />%TREET DEPARTMENT: Mr.^ Casimer Balka, Street Commissioner, was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Letters having been sent to three Dealers asking for bids on <br />a power mower and weed cutter, and only one bid having been received, the bid of the <br />J. A.
