Very truly yours, BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY Condemnation Resolution No. 2547 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AYD SAFETY OF THE CITY OP SOUTH BEND., INDIANA: That it is deemed and desired necessary to open_ and. extend Wilber Street to a uniform width of sixty (60) feet,from the center line of Elwood Avenue to the center li of Keller Street in the City of South Bend., In St. Joseph County of the State of Indian by the condemnation and appropriation of sufficient lots and lands for such opening, specifically described az follows; to wit: Beginning at the southeast corner of Sectia thirty-four (34), Township Thirty-eight (38) north, Range two(20 East; thence west a- long; the south line of said section, a distance of thirty feet; thence north parallel t and thirty (30) feet ,Jest of the east line of said Section thirty-four (34), a distance of one thousand three hundred twenty-eight and three tenths (1,328.3) feet to the cente line of Keller Street; thence east along the center line of Keller Street, a distm.ce of sixty (60) feet; thence south thirty (30) feet east of and parallel to the east line of said Section thirty-four (34) , a distance of one thousand three hundred twenty-eigh and three tenths (1,328.3) feet to the center line of Elwood Avenue; thence west along the center line of Elwood Avenue thirty (30) feet to the point of beginning, excepting so much of the above described strip of land as has already been dedicated to the _pub- lic use, all as shown by a plat of such proposed opening; now on file in the office of t: Department of Public Works and Safety of said City. The property which may be injuriously or beneficially affected in the City of South Bend, Indiana by the opening and extension of said Jilber Street as above describ is kn.owh and described as the ground herein proposed to be condemned and appropriated therefoh, and are all the lots and lands and parcels of lots lying; within the following described territory in the City of South Bend, Indiana, to grit:. Beginning at the south east corner of Section Thirty-four (34), Township Thirty-eight (38) north, Rage two (2), East; thence west along the center line of Elwood Avenue, a distance of one hun- dred sixty-four and six tenths (164.6) feet; thence north one hundred sixty-four and six tenths (164.6) feet Nest of and parallel to the east line of said Section thirty- four (34), a distance of one thousand three hundred twenty-eight and three tenths (1,328.3) feet to the center line of Keller Street; thence east along the center line o_ Keller Street, a distance of three hundred twenty-eight and five hundredths (328.05) feet; thence south, a distance of five hundred sixty and one tenth (560.1) feet; thence west, a distance of twelve and twenty-three hundredths (12.23) .feet; thence south, a distance of seven hundred sixty-nine (769) feet to the center line of .Elwood Avenue; thence west along the center line of Elwood Avenue, a distance of one hundred fifty and sixty-seven hundredths (150.67) feet to the point of beginning, all as shown by a plat of such territory now on file in the office of the Depar jn ent of Public Works and ,Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana. The Board of Public Works has set April 15, 1946 as a day upon which remonstrances may be filed or presented by persons interested in or affected by said proposed opening'; and extension as above described, and on said day at 11:00 otclocy a.m. said Board wilt meet at its office for the purpose of '_nearing and considering any remonstrances which j may have been filed or presented, and for the purpose of taking final action thereon. Cummings, BOARD OF PUBLIC 7ORKS The Board approved the revised plans for the Harquee of a building being altered at 230 Norch Michigan Street. %TREET DEPARTMENT: Mr.^ Casimer Balka, Street Commissioner, was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Letters having been sent to three Dealers asking for bids on a power mower and weed cutter, and only one bid having been received, the bid of the J. A. Orr Company, Chicago, Illinois, for one power Hower and weed cutter at 0130.00 was accepted. There being no further business to come before the Baird the meeting was adjourned. at 10:00 A.M.
