236 <br />Zanuary 14, 1946 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public :forks was held on. Monday, January 14, <br />1946 at 8:30 A.M. All members were present. I,Iinutes ,, of the last meeting were read <br />and approved. Salary claims in the mount of :�,8,102, 34 were approved a~i d ordered <br />paid. mere were no claims of suppliers to be approved. <br />TRAFFIC DEPART[ENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic 'engineer, was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />Mr. Miller discussed with the Board the proposed chaning' of Carroll Street from <br />two way traffic to a one way traffic street. No action was taken as the Board is to <br />take the matter under advisement and also to hear Mr. Obenchain and Tyr. Huggenard <br />before any decision is reached. <br />Mr. Miller was authorized to attent the Purdue Road School at LaFayette, Indiaia <br />on January 21 to 24 incluoive. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARUMENT: Excavation bonds were approved for Norman 'Oollmer, M6dow <br />Plumbing and :cleating Company and Phillip Cohn. These were ordered filed. <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Casimer Balka, Street Commissioner, was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />CEeTETERY DEPARUEENT: Irlr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters per <br />tainzng to his Uepartment were discussed. <br />Mr. Leszczynski presented his annual report for the year 1945. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourn-` <br />ed at 11:00 A_R,T_ <br />A <br />G> <br />er <br />WA <br />BOARD OF • <br />January'21, 1946 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public ''orks was held on lionday, January 21, <br />1946 at 8:30 A.TI.. All members were present. Minutes of the last `meeting were read <br />and approved. There were no claims of suppliers to be approved. <br />TRAFFIC DEPARTI,IENT: A petition was filed with the Board opposing one way traffic <br />on Carroll Street. This was referred to the Traffic Engineer. <br />ENGINEERING DEPA1R7L2ENT: A petition was received asking for the vacation of Sycamore <br />S reet and the - a ley running East and :Nest from Sycamore Street to the .East Race and <br />the first alley East of Sycamore Street running North and South from LaSalle Street <br />to the first North and South Alley North of LaSalle Street. This was.referred to <br />the City Plan Commission for investigation and report. <br />The Board approved the installation of a gasoline storage tank at the Northwest <br />corner of `lestern Avenue and Franklin Street for the Central .'lest Oil Corporation <br />upon a recommendation from Mr. Dalton I,ioomaiv, City Building Commissioner. <br />Excavation bonds were approved for Balbina Perkins d/b/a Harry Perkins and Co., <br />Dewey Uilliford, Rudolph DePaepe and J. B. Fleck.
