Rogers and was <br />ordered filed. <br />A petition was received asking for the vacation of an alley South of Mishawaka Ave <br />from Louise Street to the Grand Trunk Railroad Tracks. This was referred to the City <br />Plan Commission. <br />i A petition was received asking for the vacation of a strip of land five feet in <br />jwidth taken off of the East side of the alley extending North from Sample Street between I <br />.'lots No. 7 and 8 in the Louis Nicholls Subdivision to the City of South Bend. This was referred to the City Plan Commission. -� <br />STREET DEPARTMENT., Mir, Casimer Balka, Street Commissioner, presented the tabulation of I <br />bids received for tractors and snow plows, and the Board found that in their opinion, 4' <br />the lowest and best bid was the bid of norte Brothers of Fort 11ayne, Indiana, tnd the <br />Board therefore authorized the purchase of two tractors, two snow plows and one mower i <br />from forte Brothers at a total sum of $2,374.01. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 10:00 A.IrT. 119 <br />November 19, 1945 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, November 19, 191 <br />at 9:00 A.M. Carlson. These were ordered filed. <br />- A resolution permitting the owners of the Page.Hotel property, to seal a two inch <br />(211) opening between the newly constructed building.a nd the building owned by the City <br />Water Works, to prevent damage by the collection of,moisture in the area, was approved <br />by the Board. A copy of the resolution to become a part of these minutes. <br />Vacation Resolution No. 2539. <br />November 12, 1945 having been the date set for public hearing on the assessment <br />roll showing the award of damages and the assessments of benefits in the :ratter of the <br />vacation of the first alley North of Randolph Street from Marine Street to the East <br />line of the alley West of Marine Street under Vacation Resolution No. 2539, and said <br />date having been a public holiday the hearing was continued until November 19, 1945. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written re- <br />monstrances sere:filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notice <br />and same were found sufficient, and the 3oard., therefore, finds that the several lots <br />and parcels of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. <br />The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares <br />same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the proceed <br />:5 <br />,ed. <br />• <br />• <br />CJ <br />• <br />• <br />
