A11.members were present. <br />The Board received from the Mayor the report of the post-war planning committee <br />concerning the construction of a sewage disposal plant for the city of South Bend. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 11:30 A.M. Mr. Ernest Miller Traffic Engineers was resent and matters <br />� g � P perta: <br />ng to his department were discussed. <br />�j ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A petition was received asking for the installation of a sewer <br />II on SouEh Douglas Street between West Donald and West Ewing Streets. Also for a sewer on <br />! Arnold Street between West Donald and West Ewing streets. These were approved by the <br />Board. <br />An ordinance was presented by the Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company to be given <br />j; to the common Council for approval,•concerning flasher lights at the intersection of the <br />11 City streets and the Grand Trunk railroad crossings. They have been manually operated <br />jI by the railroad company, but the company wishes -to install automatic flashers signals <br />�I connected with the railroad tracks for twenty-four hour protection. This was approved <br />by the Board and referred to the Common Council. <br />I� The pity Plan Commission approved the vacation of the alley 'West of Marine Street <br />jI between Dubail and Randolph from Marine Street west to the East line of the first alley <br />West .of Marine. This was referred to the Engineering department for preparation of a <br />vacation resolution. <br />• <br />�� <br />A letter was received from Councilman John M. McCarthy informing the Board that <br />excavations in the street have not been properly backfilled. The Board referred the <br />matter to Mr. Williams for investigation and report. <br />Contractor's bonds in the amount of $1000.00 each were approved for John C. VonBer& <br />Louis Alhouse, and Charles E. Emmons. These were ordered filed. Excavation bonds in <br />j the amount of $5,000.00 were approved for the Goheen Plumbing Company and the Northern <br />Indiana Public Service Company. These were ordered filed. <br />
