Miller informed the 3oard that he had received a request from the Hi -Spot for <br />permission to hold a street dance on August 25th, et North LaFayette Boulevard and Lee <br />Park, from 8 otcldck till 11 o1clock. The Board granted permission to hold the dance <br />but requested the Chief of Police to post men at that location. <br />ENGINEMUNG DEPARMIENT: Contractor's bonds in the amount of w1,000.00 were approved for <br />';Jhitcomb & Keller, Inc., Michael Tomaszerrski and Son, Henry A.-Strohl, and George A. <br />Aslin. An Excavation Bond was approved for G. E. Frame, d/b/a U. E. Frame and Son. <br />These were all ordered filed. <br />STREET UC1,PART1y1EN': %ir. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />CEI;IETERY DEPAR71,1ENT: The Board granted Stanley Leseezynski, Sexton, permission to take <br />a week of his vacation from August 6 to August 13." <br />Mr. Robert A. Brooks came before the Board to ask permission to enlarge and remodel <br />a. news stand he operates at the intersection of 'Washington and I:richigan Streets. The <br />Board informed Mr. Brooks that they do not grant permission for the stands to operate, <br />that they are merely allowed to be there, and that there have been requests from business <br />men that the standsberemoved, and therefore they refused his request. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was. adjourned <br />at 10:00 A.I4. <br />ATT <br />August 13, 1945. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public :'forks was held on Monday, August 13, 1945 <br />at 9:00 A.V1.
