197 • n LJ • • 0 STREET DEPARTMENT: A performance bond in the amount of $1000.00' was filed by the StandE Company and was approved by the Board.on their bid previously accepted by the Board for Asphalt. The following bids were received for paving mixes: Taranoyl. Company, Fixtix concentrate in drums containing Chicago, 10, Illinois 400# at (F.O.B. Chicago) .26 lb. Turftread Roads, Inc. Yukan Anti -strip concentrate in drums Deerfield, Illinos containing 425# at (F.G.B. Deerfield) .28 lb, Andresen Corporation, Kotal stablizer for bituminous mixes Chicago, 45, Illinois in drums containing 425# (F.O.B. Chi.) .26 lb. It was the decision of the Board to accept the bids of the `T'aranoyl Company and the Andresen Corporation. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr, Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pert to his department were discussed. Mr. Leszczynski presented his report for the month of March, 1945. There being no further business to comebefore the Board the meeting was adjourned t 10:00 A.M. . Salary claims in the amount of $9,372.05 were pproved and ordered paid. Minutes of the last meeting were reaa and approved. A sewer in an alley South of Colfax Avenue from St. Paul's Place west one-half ! block was approved by the Board. it This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of Vacation of the alley West !!of Olive Street from Orange Street to the South line of the alley North of grange Street I In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written re- monstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notice and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several lots and parcels of land have been benefited and damages in the amounts shown on said roll. The Board there, fore decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the pro- ceedings closed, and the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefits assessed from the various property` owners so benefitted' and all proceedings had with reference to !jsaid alley vacation are hereby sustained.
