197 <br />• <br />n <br />LJ <br />• <br />• <br />0 <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: A performance bond in the amount of $1000.00' was filed by the StandE <br />Company and was approved by the Board.on their bid previously accepted by the Board <br />for Asphalt. <br />The following bids were received for paving mixes: <br />Taranoyl. Company, Fixtix concentrate in drums containing <br />Chicago, 10, Illinois 400# at (F.O.B. Chicago) .26 lb. <br />Turftread Roads, Inc. Yukan Anti -strip concentrate in drums <br />Deerfield, Illinos containing 425# at (F.G.B. Deerfield) .28 lb, <br />Andresen Corporation, Kotal stablizer for bituminous mixes <br />Chicago, 45, Illinois in drums containing 425# (F.O.B. Chi.) .26 lb. <br />It was the decision of the Board to accept the bids of the `T'aranoyl Company and the <br />Andresen Corporation. <br />CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr, Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pert <br />to his department were discussed. <br />Mr. Leszczynski presented his report for the month of March, 1945. <br />There being no further business to comebefore the Board the meeting was adjourned <br />t 10:00 A.M. . <br />ATTES`' • <br />Clerk <br />April 9, 1945 <br />A regular meeting of <br />the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, <br />April 9, <br />1945 <br />at 9:90 A.M. Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per- <br />t <br />aining to his department were discussed. <br />ENGINEERING DEPART JENT: <br />ji . A sewer in an alley South of Colfax Avenue from St. Paul's Place west one-half <br />! block was approved by the Board. <br />it This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award <br />of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of Vacation of the alley West <br />!!of Olive Street from Orange Street to the South line of the alley North of grange Street <br />I In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written re- <br />monstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notice <br />and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several lots <br />and parcels of land have been benefited and damages in the amounts shown on said roll. <br />The Board there, fore decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares <br />same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the pro- <br />ceedings closed, and the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefits assessed <br />from the various property` owners so benefitted' and all proceedings had with reference to <br />!jsaid alley vacation are hereby sustained. <br />
