February 13, 1945 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on 1'ues-day, .February 13, <br />945 at 9:00 A.T4. Mr. Levy was absent. Minutes of. the last meeting were read and <br />pproved. Hiznay and was ordered filed. <br />CEMETERY DEPARTI,EITT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining <br />to his department ,were discussed. <br />A letter was received from E..N. Resler, President of the Board, of Trustees of the <br />Town of Walkerton, Indiana requesting."permission for a resident of their town to drive <br />persons to the City of South Bend in his taxi. This was referred to Mr. Levy. <br />Representatives of various taxi cab companies were present at the meeting, namely <br />Mr. Bert Liss, Mr. Otto Entzian and hr. Otto "��orehouse, and also Mr. `latterson of the <br />Northern Indiana `transit Company with his Attorney, Mr. Al Johannes, to discuss,the <br />use of station wagons in transporting fares, during the emergency.
