<br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, January 15,
<br />1945 at 9:00 A.l. Mr. Levy Was absent. Minutes of the last meeting were read and
<br />approved.. Salary claims in the amount of $24,135.64 were approved and ordered paid.

<br />ENGINEERING DEPART14ENT: Excavation bonds in the amount of , 1000.00 each were approved
<br />for Abe Ii; laTedow and Josepli Id. Hiznay. These were ordered filed.
<br />The public hearing on Vacation Resolution No. 2530 having been continued to this
<br />i date,.hearing was had. Twenty-one persons were present to remonstrate agains the
<br />vacation. Ivir. Frank Nopinski, Attorney representing tie remonstrators, TIr. Walter
<br />Arnold, representing the petitioner 1,1r. Rocco Simeri, I,lr. Simeri and Mr. Arthur May,
<br />Attorney representing the Conservative Life Company, were also present. After a full
<br />discussion of the facts, Mr. 1.17illiams suggested that inasmuch as Mr. Levy was absent,
<br />jthe Board take the matter under advisement and a decision be reached by the next Board
<br />meeting.

<br />C:E-METERY DEPARTMENT: Td[r. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and mat ters pertain-
<br />ing to his department were discussed.

<br />at 9:00 A.I,'. Mr. Levy was absent. inutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
<br />There were no claims of suppliers to be approved.

<br />taining to his department were discussed.
<br />Mr. ."iller was authorized by the Board to attend the Purdue Road School at LaFay-
<br />ette, Indiana on January 29th, 30th and 31st.
<br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Mr. Williams was also authorized to attend the Purdue road
<br />School at LaFayette, Indiana on January 29-30 and 31st.

<br />11 presented to the Board, to be known as "Colfax Place, a subdivision of Lot No. 67,
<br />Rockafellers 3rd Addition" 'to the City of South Bend, Indiana.
<br />This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the 3oard of Public :forks and
<br />Safety in Row #21, Drawer #4 and -recorded in BooK # 084 Pages 394-95, in the Record-
<br />er's office of St. Joseph County.
<br />NO'"J, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public 'Alorks and Safety of South
<br />Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and public places dedicated -to the
<br />public use in said Plat, are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on
<br />behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana. the above Plat was approved by the .City
<br />Plan Commission and submitted to the Board for their acceptance.
<br />VACATION RE`sOLUTION No. 2530.
<br />After a full and complete discussion of all matters pertaining to the vaca:tionvaf -.,,
<br />the -alley ;nest of Hill Street under vacation resolution No. 2530, it was the""decision of the �3oard that the matter be tabled until after the war. It can then be- reconsidered [
