V, <br />171 <br />MEETING - SEPTEIMBER 5, 1944 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Tuesday, September 5, <br />.1944 at 9:00 A.M. All members were present.. Mr Michael Cummings having -been sworn <br />in as the new City Controller was present at the meeting and sat as a member of the <br />Board of Public ;Works. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Co. 72.64 <br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present at the meeting � <br />and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />M <br />Mr. Zmudzinski informed the Board that he was in need of a bull dozer and the Clerk <br />of the Board was directed to write to dealers for bids. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTIrENT: A petition was received asking that a portion of Donald Street j <br />• from High Street to UaT Park 4th Addition be vacated. This was referred to the City I <br />Plan Commission. <br />• <br />0 <br />A Contr=ctor's bond in the amount of �1,000.00 was approved for John C. VonBergen <br />and Excavator's bonds in the amount of N5,000.00 were approved for the Northern Indiana <br />Public Service Company and Niezgodski Brothers. These were ordered filed. <br />CEMETERY DEPARTMENT., Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present at the meeting and <br />matters pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourn <br />at 10:00 A.T. <br />ATT <br />rk <br />
