i_ S <br />MEETING - JUNE 19, 1944 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works washeldon Monday, June 19, 1944 <br />at 9:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. There were no bills to -be approved. <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner., was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />TRARFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Street Traffic Engineer, was present and matter <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />&EMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertai <br />to his department were discussed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjour <br />at 10:00 A.M. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A C©ntractorts Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 was approved <br />forHarry Kemble.. This.was ordered filed. <br />MEETING - JUNE 26, 1944 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of <br />Public <br />Works was held on Monday, June <br />26, 1944 <br />at 9:00 A.M. All members were present. <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. Miller <br />6.76 <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr, Anthont Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />Mr. Zmudzinski turned over to the Board, $2.00 which he received for cutting down <br />weeds on a private lot. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractorts bonds in the amount of $1,000.00 were approved <br />for John C. Benjamin, . J.J. Zellner and Melvin Green, a Partnership and fEdwdrd -'Burton <br />and an Excavators bond was approved for G. E. Frame, d.b.a. 0. E. Frame and Son. <br />These were ordered filed. <br />A petition was received from Agnes L. platers and George W. ;'haters, Sr., asking I' <br />the Board to vacate that portion of LaMonte Terrace described as follows: <br />Beginning at the nort_awest corner of Lot number Eight (8) of Fassnachtfs Chapin ;I <br />Place .Addition to the City of South Bend: thence North five and five hundredths (5,05) <br />feet; thence H'a.st twenty-seven and six tenths (27.6) feet; thence North seven tenths it <br />)0.7) foot; thence East three and six tenths (3.6) feet; thence South seven tenths (0.7) <br />foot; thence East twenty-two and eight tenths (22.8) feet; thence South five (5.0) feet.;•;; <br />thence 'hest along the north side of said lot to the. place of beginning. <br />The purpose of this petition is to clean the title to the property of the said <br />Agnes Waters and George W. Waters, Sr., as the building on the said lot protrudes into <br />the city street as much as.is described above. No action roast aken on the petition and <br />it was ordered filed. <br />A petition containing 24 signatures was received asking for an abatement of the <br />smoke nuisance caused by the St. Joseph Hospital.
