151 <br />n <br />U <br />7- <br />Is <br />This being the date set for the hearing on the resolution heretofore adapted by <br />the Board, for the vacation of the alley South of 'Huron Street from Lake Street to the <br />alley ;pest of Lake Street and includin-'c a 5 foot cut-off on the Northwest corner of <br />Lot No. 63 and from the Viest line of the alley 'cdest of Lake Street to Falcon Street and <br />including a 5 foot cut-off on the Northeast corner of Lot No. 61, under vacation resol- <br />ution No. 2527, and the hearing on said resolution having been set for 10:00 A.M. on <br />the 3rd day of April, 1944 and publication having been made in the South Bend Tribune <br />and the T`Iirror, on the loth day of March, 19114 and the 17th day of Talarch, 1944 respectiv <br />and being now 10:00 A.t`l.° on the 3rd day of April and no one having appeared in o .,positio <br />to said resolution, it was removed, seconded and unanimously carrieA, that resolution No. <br />2527-vacating said alley be finally adopted -and said alley be vacated. The Engineering <br />Department is directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the benefits and damages <br />to the surrounding property. <br />TRAFFIC DEPkPLTrRENT; Mr., Ernest 14 ller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per- <br />taining to his department were discussed. <br />CI]METERY DEPARTITIENT: P,4r. Hann, Offic'_als of the ltiorthern Indiana Transit Company, <br />appeared before the Board and requested permission to change the routes and, schedules <br />of the Beacon Heights Housing Project. Tentative approval was granted subject to <br />receiving their plans of the proposed routes and schedules. <br />Mr. Jos. Roper, Assistant City Attorney, was authorized to obtain a property list <br />of the properties beneficially or in juriousl7T affected by the Chippewa Avenue conderl- <br />nation. 11r. J. H. Kelsey- and Mir, George Riley were appointed appraisers. <br />The Board approved the dedication of the Belleville 4th Addition to the City of <br />South Bend. <br />,• <br />TRAFFIC DEPARTI"JEI,T: The Traffic Engineer was authorized to co to Indianapol..is on <br />April 13 and 14 to work out details of the down town traffic system. <br />CEIvIET CRY DEPARTMENT: 11r.
