ORDINANCE NO. <br /> BILL NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, SETTING THE ANNUAL SALARY FOR THE COMMON <br /> COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2018 <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> The South Bend Common Council is required to fix the annual compensation of elected city <br /> officers. Indiana Code § 36-4-7-2 authorizes the legislative body to carry out these <br /> responsibilities. <br /> This ordinance proposes a two percent (2 %) maximum increase for calendar year 2018 for the <br /> nine-member Common Council. <br /> 1n <br /> Section I. The maximum salaries for the members of the South Bend Common Council for the <br /> 2018 calendar years shall be established as follows, which reflects a maximum 2% increase over <br /> the 2017 maximum rate: <br /> 2017 2018 <br /> $19,030 $19,411 <br /> Section II.
