143 MEETING - FEBRUARY 14, 1944 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was,held on Monday, February 14, 1944 at 9:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the amount of $8,383.01 were approved and ordered paid. He is j to discuss the matter with the Attorney for the Pennsylvania Railroad. • Vhi S. Moore reported that he had reviewed the proposed plan off' G.. R. Robertson and had made minor changes which were approved by Mr. Robertson. The Board accepted and approved the revised plan of repairing the Jefferson Street Bridge. Action taken by the Board of Public "11orks and Safety on the 7th day of February, 1944, indicating a hearing on the Assessment Roll in the matter of Vacation Resolution No. 2526, is hereby declared null and void as having been taken on the wrong date. This being the date set for hearing remonstrances on the assessment roll showing the sward of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of vacation resolution No. 2526, said hearing was held. In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written re- monstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several lots and parcels of land have been benefitted and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. The Board, therefore, decides to take action on said assessment roll, and declare same in all things ratified, confirmed and'approv ed without modification and the pro- ceedings closed and the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefits assessed from the various property owners so benefitted, and all proceedings had with reference to said alley vacation are hereby sustained. �) No further action was taken with regard to awarding the contract for the repair of the Jefferson Street Bridge. • TRAFFIC ENGINEER: Mr. Ernest 141iller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters pertain- ing,to his department were discussed. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned II at 10:30 A.M.
