111 <br />MEETING SEPTEMBER 13, - 1943, <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, September 13, 1943 <br />at 9:00 A*M* All members were reent. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approv d. <br />Salary claims in the amount of J9,Z63.69 were approved and ordered paid. Fund or the <br />Interceptor Sewer <br />I <br />Edgar' Anderson Salary August 31' ' 1943 <br />$62.`50 <br />IlEdgar'Anderson Salary September 15, 1943 <br />62.50 <br />DEPARTMENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, <br />Street Commissioner, was present <br />and matters <br />��STREET <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />ii <br />The Board further discussed the purchase <br />of the asphalt distributor <br />from Korte <br />. <br />lBrothers, but no action was taken. <br />i <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The Board approved`plans <br />for paving the alley <br />in the rear of <br />lots 10-11-14-15 can in the alley west of Wilbur <br />Street from California <br />Avenue to <br />,IVassar <br />Avenue. <br />The Board approved the grade of the alley in the rear of lots #10-11-14-15 in the <br />alley West of Wilbur Street from California Avenue to Vassar Avenue, <br />The Board approved a plan showing the proposed drive on the East side of Lot #26 <br />Hull's Subdivision at 1026 East Madison Street. <br />The Board approved the plans for the installation of a local sewer on the alley <br />• <br />east of Kentucky Street from Washington Street to 182 feet North', and also the installs- <br />11tion of a sewer on Kentucky Street from Washington Street to the Manhole 182 feet North. <br />�i This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the <br />Iaward.of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of 4.5 <br />feet off the East side and 4.5 fleet off the West side of alley West of Twyckenham Drive <br />from Chester Street to the Alley North of Mishawaka Avenue, reserving a five foot strip <br />leentered on center line of said alley for a public Shay. <br />II In the above assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances <br />�1were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices and same <br />(were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several lots and parcels <br />• �lof land have been benefitted and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. The Board, <br />therefore, decides to take action on: said assessment roll, and declares ame in all <br />things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the proceedings closed, <br />sand the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefit assessments from the various <br />Ijproperty owners so benefitted and all proceedings had with reference to said alley <br />![vacation are hereby sustained. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 10:00 A.M. <br />'ATTES <br />2 <br />er <br />ADDENDA: <br />,ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The Board approved a Contractor's bond in the amount of $1,000.00 <br />for John C. Van Bergen and an Excavation Bond for Balbina Perkins doing business as the <br />,Harry D. Perkins Company. These bonds were ordered filed. <br />• i� Improvement Resolution #2524 <br />Notice is hereby given that the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, at a meeting of said Board, held on the 13th day of September, 1943, adopted <br />a resolution for the improvement of the following described property: <br />For a sewer on Duey Street from South Bend Avenue, North to the North line of <br />Hartman and Millers Additon and Hartman and Woodworth Addition, under improvement <br />resolution No. 2524. <br />Said Board will meet at 10:00 A.M. on the 18th day of October, 1943 at its office <br />• in the City Hall and receive and hear remonstrances from all persons interested in, or <br />affected by these proceedings and will decide whether the benefits to the property <br />liable to be assessed for said improvement will equal the estimated cost thereof. <br />
