Zmudzinski presented the sweeper report for the weeks beginning July 14 and July 26, <br />1942. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Upon the recommendation of the Engineering Department, the Board <br />accepted the pavement on Timber Lane, from Bercliff Drive south approximately 450 feet <br />to the south line of Lot #27, Bercliff Estate, an addition to the City of South Bend. <br />This being the date set for the hearing on the resolution heretofore adopted by the <br />Board, for the vacation of the alley south of Tasher Avenue from alley west of Michigan <br />Street to Main Street, and the hearing on said resolution having been set for 10:00 A. M. <br />on the 3rd day of August, 1942 and publication having been made in the South Bend Tribune <br />and the Mirror, on the 17th.day of :July and the 24th day of July, 1942, respectively, and <br />being now 10:30 A. M. on the 3rd day of August, and no one having appeared in opposition <br />to said resolution, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried, that resolution <br />#2518 vacating said alley be finally adopted and said alley be vacated. The Engineering <br />Department is directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the benefits and damages <br />to the surrounding property. <br />This being the date set for the hearing on the resolution heretofore adopted by the <br />Board, for the vacation of the alley south of Jennings Avenud_from:_the alley..3#est of <br />Michigan Street to Main Street, and the hearing on said resolution having been set for <br />10:00 A. M. on the 3rd day of August, 1942 and publication having been made in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Mirror, on the 17th day of July and the 24th day of July, 1942, <br />respectively, and being now 10:30 A. M. on the 3rd day of August,'and on one having appear <br />ed in opposition to said resolution, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />that resolution #2519 vacating said alley be finally adopted and said alley be Vacated. <br />The Engineering Department is directed to prepare an -.assessment roll covering the benefit: <br />and damages to the surrounding property. <br />The Board approved the plans presented by the H. G. Christman Co'., for a concrete <br />approach for the heat treat building for the South Bend Tool & Die Co. <br />A contractorts bond was received for the Indiana Bell Telephone Co. This bond was <br />approved and ordered filed. <br />TRAFFIC DIVISION: Rev. Gilbert W. Noel of the Pilgrim Holiness Church appeared before <br />the Board, with a request that religious street meetings, by his church, be held on the <br />streets of South Bend. This request was not granted. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at <br />10 :30 A.
